What is Richmond Tree Week?
Richmond Tree Week is an annual autumn event series that celebrates Richmond's urban forests, showcases the incredible urban greening efforts happening across our city, and reaffirms our commitment to expanding tree canopy and cooling down communities.
Richmond Tree Week 2025 is happening citywide from Saturday, November 1st through Saturday, November 8th, 2024.
Over 30 Free Tree Events!
RTW 2025 is our 6th year and we’re excited to share over 30 free tree events including volunteer plantings, tree giveaways, walking and biking tours, educational workshops, and opening and closing parties!!!

Who’s involved with RTW 2025?
Richmond Tree Week is a collaborative effort of local community groups, environmental organizations, and City of Richmond (COR) departments and divisions. Thank you to all of the wonderful community partners who help make Richmond Tree Week happen.

Where did Richmond Tree Week come from?
Richmond Tree Week 2025 is a weeklong, citywide event series that celebrates Richmond’s incredible urban forest!
Richmond Tree Week focuses on bringing community together through various tree-centric events happening across Richmond. The series spreads awareness of the amazing greening efforts by environmental organizations, community groups, and City departments, whose mission is to increase and maintain our urban tree canopy, while inspiring the next generation of urban and community foresters.
