Happy Tree Week!
What is Richmond Tree Week 2026?
Richmond Tree Week is an citywide celebration of Richmond's urban forests that happens every fall. Coordinated by Reforest Richmond, Richmond Tree Week 2026 is the 7th annual event series and runs citywide from Sunday, 11/1 through Saturday, 11/7.
We’ve got community tree plantings and volunteer opportunities, free tree giveaways, walking and biking tours, workshops and presentations, a tree hugging contest, and tree parties to kick off and wrap up the week!
Richmond Tree Week 2026 showcases the incredible urban greening efforts happening across our city and celebrates the people, organizations and communities that are working daily to expand tree canopy, cool down our communities, and protect our James River.
How to Plant a Tree
It takes a village to reforest a city!
Richmond Tree Week is a collaborative effort of local community groups, environmental organizations, and City of Richmond (COR) departments and divisions. Individually we are just trees, together, we make a forest.
Thank you to all of the wonderful community partners who help make Richmond Tree Week happen.
