Happy Tree Week!

What is Richmond Tree Week?

Richmond Tree Week is a weekong annual autumn event series that celebrates Richmond's urban forests, showcases the incredible urban greening efforts happening across our city, and reaffirms our commitment to expanding tree canopy and cooling down communities.

Richmond Tree Week 2026 is happening citywide from Sun, 11/1 through Sat, 11/7. This is year is our 7th annual RTW and we’re excited to share over 30 tree events across Richmond. We’ve got volunteer tree plantings, free tree giveaways, walking and biking tours, workshops and presentations, a tree hugging contest, and tree parties to kick off and wrap up the week!

It takes a village to reforest a city!

Richmond Tree Week is a collaborative effort of local community groups, environmental organizations, and City of Richmond (COR) departments and divisions. Thank you to all of the wonderful community partners who help make Richmond Tree Week happen.
